Still my favorite video from Fun.! Happy one year to Some Nights!
If you want to restore your faith in music, go see Fun. live. I honestly can’t emphasize the level of talent this band has both in the studio and on the stage.
When I first heard the original recording of “The First Single” by The Format (well, technically Nevergonnascore), nearly 10 years ago (holy shit, Allie, we’re old!) I honestly didn’t think there was any way that Nate Ruess’s vocals could carry that same impact outside of a studio… I was so wrong.
Fun. is absolutely an incredible band to see on stage. I definitely encourage anyone who is into to fun indie pop rock to go check them out on their upcoming tour. (You can thank me later…)
As a concert photographer, one of the more prized shots, and obviously more difficult one to capture, is a jump shot. Low light, timing, etc. etc. can make it nearly impossible to get without blur in an indoor, stage lit, performance.
Well… I finally succeeded. Check out this shot of Jack Antonoff of Fun. from their exclusive student-only show at the University of Mary Washington the other night!
I really enjoy doing work for this band, if you haven’t heard their new record, Some Nights, it’s streaming on their website at www.ournameisfun.com. The album drops officially February 21st, so pre order it!

Got to see this band live last night in VA and hear their new stuff. SO.GOOD. I was curious how the album would translate to the stage without digital enhancements… but the guys really pull it off with their acoustic versions.
BUY “SOME NIGHTS.”
SEE FUN. LIVE.
Stoked to be seeing this band in VA tonight.
I’m excited about the work I’ve been doing for them, as well. We’ve got some cool things lined up. You can stream their brand new album SOME NIGHTS for free HERE.
Oh and make sure you pick up this record on February 21. (It’ll be worth every penny.)
Pre order on Itunes HERE.
